Andrea K Höst’s Touchstone series instantly took hold of my curious mind and interest in all things unknown and never let go. I absolutely loved this book, which I downloaded for free via Book Gorilla, and I was instantly hooked and knew that I had to have the complete series.
I am frugal by nature, and out of necessity due to never-ending medical bills, so I was VERY thankful when my friend (and boss) purchased the second book (Lab Rat One – Touchstone #2) and third book (Caszandra – Touchstone #3) for me, because I probably wouldn’t have splurged on them myself and had I not had them, I would’ve missed out on an amazing continuation of this unique story. I was equally elated when I discovered Gratuitous Epilogue – Touchstone Extra.
This series may have originally been written for a slightly younger target audience but it definitely has appeal for people of all ages. I am not usually a lover of the sci-fi genre but I have always loved all things paranormal and this book has a little of both. Written in the form of the main character’s diary, the format is different from anything that I had read before and I found it very appealing, intelligent, easy, and fun to read. Continue reading
