For today’s FurBall Friday, I would like to feature a wonderful non-profit animal rescue organization, not far from home, called Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. While I do not support zoos or marine/aquatic facilities who aim to profit on the captivity of wild animals, I do support facilities such as Turpentine Creek that provide care and a safe, loving home for animals that have no viable option for life in the wild.
Turpentine Creek is located near beautiful Eureka Springs, Arkansas. If you haven’t been to Eureka Springs, this quaint, eccentric little town is worth a visit all on its own. The fact that Turpentine Creek is nearby is definitely an added bonus.
Turpentine Creek’s mission statement is this:
To provide lifetime refuge for abandoned, abused, and neglected “Big Cats” with emphasis on Tigers, Lions, Leopards, and Cougars.
